I’m writing to share an important update as we continue to experience extreme temperatures.

The severe heat will have a significant impact on the railway infrastructure over which we operate. To help keep our passengers and colleagues safe, in conjunction with Network Rail, we have taken the decision to reduce our timetable to less than 50% of normal services. We are advising customers to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.

Trains that are running are expected to be very busy, and customers may experience significant delays. This advice will remain in place for the duration of the extreme weather warning and is expected to apply until at least Thursday.

If travel is essential, we encourage customers to carry water, stay hydrated and follow any instructions provided by station and onboard staff.
