A survey of Kings Sutton was undertaken in 1992-3 as a result of the Northamptonshire Rural Community Council urging parishes to look at their communities and document the results. The idea was taken up enthusiastically, with a core team including Albert and Joan Cramp, Robert Webb, Sheila and Kendal Barrow, Kath Wyatt, Tina Armstrong, Margaret Tombs, Peter Broadhead and Alex Lovell. Many other volunteers were also involved, since the aim was to get as many contributors as possible, though inevitably the final compilation needed some editing, knitting all the stories together and producing a narrative. The result, a highly readable history of the village at the end of the 20th century, together with individual contributions on transport, population changes, flora and fauna and many reminiscences as well as the consolidated results of the survey, is comprehensive and a valuable commentary on a village which was, inevitably, in the process of change.
