Due to planned engineering works on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 March 2026, London Marylebone will be closed to all Chiltern Railways services. The Bakerloo Line station remains open.
The railway will be closed between Marylebone and Gerrards Cross/Harrow on the Hill, trains will instead operate between Gerrards Cross and Oxford, Bicester North and Birmingham Moor Street, and Amersham and Aylesbury Vale Parkway. See the image below for an illustrative map.
To complete your journey, use the Metropolitan Line between Baker Street and Hillingdon or Amersham, and take replacement bus services between Hillingdon, Denham, and Gerrards Cross. Alternatively, passengers travelling to Oxford, Bicester Village, or Birmingham can use Great Western Railway or Cross Country services via London Paddington and Reading.
Please note that all journeys to and from London will take considerably longer than usual
|
| Customers are encouraged to check ahead of travel and allow additional time. Journeys on these dates will take much longer than usual and may involve a rail replacement bus or travelling alternative routes on other operators.
Reason for engineering works and benefits:
The engineering work on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 March will involve track upgrades and maintenance work to help keep the railway and journeys safe and reliable for passengers and freight services.
Changes to ways to pay for travel (pay as you go with contactless)
Due to the unusual journey routes this weekend, customers are advised to buy paper tickets rather than using pay as you go with contactless if their journey involves travelling to London (on the bus via Hillingdon LU) from any of these stations; Little Kimble, Monks Risborough, Princes Risborough, Saunderton, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, and Denham and London.
Travel advice:
On both days, customers travelling between Marylebone – Bicester Village/Bicester North and stations to Oxford/Birmingham should travel via Paddington / Reading.
